Removal

  1. Do the battery terminal disconnection procedure, then wait at least 3 minutes before starting work.

  1. Remove the front cover.

  1. From under the front passenger's seat, disconnect the front passenger's weight sensor unit connectors A, B, and C.

  3. Remove the front passenger's weight sensor unit (D) from the bracket (E).

    NOTE: While separating the front passenger's weight sensor unit from the bracket, use a flat-tipped screwdriver (F) to push and release it from the bracket.


Installation

  1. Install the front passenger's weight sensor unit (D) to the bracket (E).

    NOTE: Make sure the front passenger's weight sensor unit is properly installed. You will hear a click when the front passenger's weight sensor unit is securely mounted on the bracket.

  3. Connect the front passenger's weight sensor unit connectors A, B, and C.

  1. Install the front cover.

  1. Do the battery terminal reconnection procedure.

  1. Clear any DTCs with the HDS.

  1. Do the front passenger's weight sensor unit initialization.

  1. Make sure the front passenger's weight sensor unit has the latest software. If it does not have the latest, update the software in the front passenger's weight sensor unit.

  1. Confirm proper SRS operation: Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), or press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode, and check that the SRS indicator comes on for about 6 seconds and then goes off.
