NOTE:

  • Put on gloves to protect your hands.

  • Take care not to drop the glass inside the door.

  1. Remove these items:

    • Door panel

    • Latch remote control assembly

    • Door center sash outer trim

    • Door rear sash outer trim

  1. Remove the plastic cover (A).

    1. Remove the plug caps (B).

    1. Disconnect the CESS articulated harness connectors (C).

    1. Detach the harness clips (D) and the connector clips (E).

    1. Pass the wire harness (F) and the cables (G) through the slits (H) in the plastic cover, then remove the plastic cover.

      NOTE: If the plastic cover is damaged or torn, replace it with a new one.

  1. Lower the glass (A) until you can see the bolts, then remove them.

  2. Fastener Locations? : Bolt, 2A6 x 1.0 mm9.4 N·m(0.96 kgf·m, 6.9 lbf·ft)
  1. If necessary, remove the hook caps (A), then remove the sunshade hooks (B).

  1. Pull away the glass run channel (A) as needed, and remove the plug cap (B). Remove the nuts and the bolt at the rear securing the rear channel (C).

  2. Fastener Locations? : Nut, 2? : Bolt, 1AC6 x 1.0 mm8 N·m (0.8 kgf·m, 6 lbf·ft)6 x 1.0 mm8 N·m (0.8 kgf·m, 6 lbf·ft)B

  1. Remove the rear channel (A) out through the window opening.

    1. Pull up the top of the rear channel and forward.

    1. Separate the glass run channel (B) from the rear channel.

    1. Pull up the rear channel from the door glass (C).

      NOTE: Take care not to damage the glass outer weatherstrip (D).

  1. Carefully remove the glass (A) out through the window opening.

  1. Remove the regulator (A) through the hole in the door.

    1. Disconnect the lower roller stop cable (B).

    1. Disconnect the motor connector (C) and the switch connector (D), then detach the connector clip.

    1. Loosen the bolt (E), and remove the bolts (F).

  1. Install the glass and the regulator in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:

    • If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.

    • Apply grease to all the sliding surfaces of the regulator (A) and the switch lever (B) where shown.

    • Roll the glass up and down to make sure it moves freely without binding.

    • Make sure that there is no clearance between the glass and the glass run channel when the glass is closed.

    • Make sure each connector is plugged in properly, and each cable is connected securely.

    • Adjust the position of the glass as necessary.

    • Before installing the regulator, make sure the switch lever is in the position.

    • Push the clips into place securely.

    • Make sure the plastic cover on the door is installed properly and sealed around its outside perimeter to seal out water.

    • Check for water leaks.

    • Test-drive the vehicle, and check for wind noise and rattles.
